  • Tasman Island

    In 2005 the Hamish Saunders Memorial Trust was launched with a Survey of Tasman Island. A number of important species occur on the island including a rare species of cave cricket.

  • Three Hummock Island

    Three Hummock Island is one of the larger of 12 islands and rock stacks in the Hunter Island group. A small number of important species were known to have occured here.

  • Prime Seal Island

    This Island has been known for some time to have interesting and in some ways unique flora when compared to other Furneaux Islands and mainland Tasmania.

  • MacQuarie Harbour Islands

    One hundred and sixty fauna taxa were recorded during the survey, of which one hundred and thirty-two had not previously been recorded in Macquarie Harbour.

  • Inner Sister Island

    Inner Sister Island is only 1.9 km to the north of Flinders Island, yet it is not as accessible as one might expect. The topography of the island is varied and high hills occur on the island which are bisected in the centre by a wide valley.

Schouten Island - 2011

Staff of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DIPWE) identified Schouten Island as the subject of the 2011 survey. Schouten Island is situated off the east coast of Tasmania. It is 28 square kms in size and lies 1.6 km south of Freycinet Peninsula within the Freycinet National Park.

In 2009 HSMT volunteers took part in surveys of the Macquarie Harbour Islands. The ABC filed a story on the HSMT involvement.
